On New Year's Eve, our class had a party. The atmosphere was good. It was out of the ordinary from the very begining. The boy student from one bedroom gave an unusual performance. We saw a boy named Li Xinmin turn off all the lights in a sudden snap. Then with three resounding crow of a cock echoing in the hall, the hall was again brightly lit in a snap.
Then, the representative of the bedroom Zhu Guozhang asked us to guess a line of a poem related to the above situation. He added that Li Xinmin alone was born in the year of the dog and the other three were all born in the year of the chicken. They left us all in confusion. And it was our monitor who was quickwitted. 《假如给我三天光明》的'资料，时常使我心头温暖，不同于其它的名著，读起来使人黯然泪下。虽然当我们读到，她只拥有了十九个月的光明与声音，就猩红热夺去了视力、听力时为她感到同情，但是，当再看到她遇上了许多好心人时，不禁在心底为她祝福。这也足以告诉我们，这个世界是充满了爱的。
全书从海伦得病而失去听力、视力后，被沙利文老师逐渐从黑暗带到了光明，从无知走向了成熟开始，将海伦一生的经历展现给了大家。
读完这本书，海伦那坚强、乐观的形象，依然能在我眼前清晰显现。在她书中描述的一切，我觉得这对于一个残疾人几乎不可能。可她却证明给了我们看。也不难想象这背后有多么的艰辛，如：沙利文老师为了让小海伦了解水，只有把她带到水龙头旁，让她用那稚嫩的手去感觉。在冰冻三尺的严冬里，这样反复的训练，怎能不让人心痛?也就是从小的锻练，使海伦拥有了一颗坚强的心，也让她收获了哈佛的通知书。
海伦的一生也证明了我们课本中的一个道理：海伦之所以成功，是因为她珍爱生命，肯定生命的价值，不因为生来的残缺而碌碌终生，反而成了她生活动力，让这有限的生命焕发光彩，并不断延伸这生命的价值。就如一位先哲所说：“生命中可能会括风下雨，但我们能够在心中拥有自己的一缕阳光”。
在本书中的结尾中，作者也向人们发出了她心中的渴望，不，就应是许多人的心愿。那就是——假如给我三天光明!残疾人渴望光明，那我们呢?我们拥有更多上天的照顾。但可悲的是，我们却没将生命发挥极致。这无疑是个极大的讽刺。所以把握这天，从这天开始，延伸我们生命的价值，既使头发渐白，我们的心也要依旧有活力，人活着，不就应只追求生命的长度，而更应追求生命的光彩!
